This is a celebration of people who are recognized by our community on a provincial, National or International level and can say they are proudly connected to North Bay.

2019 HONOUREES

The 2019 Kiwanis Walk of Fame Honourees are:

George Couchie, indigenous educator category

Ralph Diegel, independent retail category

Mort Fellman, journalist editor category

Murray Leatherdale, author/historian category

Jack Lockhart, visual artist educator category

Kiwanis Club of Nipissing President Chris Mayne extends congratulations to all the honourees saying “One of our Kiwanis International objectives is to develop and promote our citizens. The Kiwanis Walk of Fame selection committee reviewed a list of over 30 submissions, so clearly the people of North Bay are conveying there is continued interest in this Kiwanis project”.

The scope of the 2019 recognition covers several decades of our city’s history. The individuals we are honouring this year were engaged in numerous and different organizations, some known as community builders and many involved in the arts – literary, multi-media and visual. Their historical and adventurous stories have shaped our city’s culture, garnering provincial, national and international attention.

The Kiwanis Walk of Fame induction ceremony will occur Friday, November 08, 2019 at The Grande Event Centre Downtown North Bay.

Tickets for this evening of celebration available at $ 75 per person. Doors open by 6 pm.
