Kids Triathlon
(Saturday June 29, 2024 at Olmsted Beach)
In 2008 a small group of local triathletes put into action a life-long dream of North Bay Sports Hall of Fame triathlete, Viola Burke. Viola always knew that a triathlon designed and run just for kids would be an opportunity to grow the sport of triathlon locally, build character and contribute to a healthier, more active community. And thus the first North Bay Kids Tri, was born!
The North Bay Kids Tri is all about introducing kids and families to the sport of triathlon. There might not be another sport more fun for kids than this! Kids love swimming, biking and running...now they can do it all at one time!

Adult Triathlon
(Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Olmsted Beach)
This year we will be working with Sprint Course distances for the Triathlon. It is designed to take advantage of the best of the natural features of North Bay, including a swim in the City of North Bay's water supply, Trout Lake, cycling out highway 63 to Peninsula Road and finishing with a very scenic and shaded run.
It is a competitive event with chip timing that begins with a beach start into the beautiful, spring fed waters of Trout Lake for the 750 meter swim, then onto the challenging Peninsula Road route for the 20 km bike course that starts with a gradual climb out highway 63 then onto the hilly Peninsula Road and ends with a long gentle decline to be sure you are ready to finish in good form.
The 5 km run will take you on a gorgeous rolling, tree covered run not far from the shores of Trout Lake amongst some of North Bay's finest lakeside properties.

North Bay Try-a-Tri
Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Olmsted Beach
The Try-a-Tri is an event specifically intended to allow new or less experienced participants to experience the elements and sport of a triathlon at an appropriate level. The North Bay Try-a-Tri involves a 300 meter swim, a 10 km bike and a 2 km run. While the event is timed, it is not intended to be competitive.
The course is based at the Olmsted Beach on Trout Lake at the North Bay Canoe Club on Lakeside Drive. The bike course changed in 2016, which will take you on a gorgeous rolling, tree covered route not far from the shores of Trout Lake. The run takes place on smooth paved roads in the Birchaven area, with race marshalls at the major intersections.
If you considered entering your first triathlon this is the place to do it - in a safe, welcoming, non-intimidating supportive environment!
